My British husband -Paul and I have met each other at a local Riding Centre in Germany during his time in the Royal Air Force. Both Paul and I used to be professional horse riders. Paul here in the UK and I trained for three years as a Bereiter FN and took my exams in Warendorf, Germany. We have two sons who are called Tim and Phillip.
In 1998 our first Dalmatian came to us following the tragic loss of our Springer Spaniel. It was my wish to be able to breed my own dogs one day so Tara was carefully chosen in the hope that she would develop to a breed worthy individual. Since then I visited many shows, read every book available, searched the net for information and have met some wonderful Dalmatian people from all around the World - some of them having become very close friends indeed.
During our stay in Germany we have lived on my parent’s farm which was converted for equine purposes. We have bred one litter under the Millview Affix during this time.
In August 2001 we moved to the UK - South Wales to be precise. Our Affix was rejected by the KC so we ended up with our second choice “Caprilli”. Major Caprilli was an important figure in the equine world and invented today’s show jumping position which allowed horses to jump, using a natural Bascule. For us this symbolises the wish to keep the memory of our times with horses alive but also to try and breed a Dalmatian that because of his health and temperament will be able to lead a full and great life as a family member.
Since our move to the UK I have also started the long process of training to become a Judge. So far I have passed two exams and I am on the C-List of Judges for both the BDC and the NoEDC.
Some of our Dalmatians are doing very well in the Show Rings across Europe and have gained JW and Champion titles, won BoB and BIS awards and their classes at Crufts and the ECDC shows. Our particular pride and joy is the fact that ALL of our dogs are wonderful family members and much loved Pets.
It is not easy to express once opinion about breeding in general or Dalmatian breeding in particular on a home page so please do not hesitate to contact us if we have left any questions unanswered. Please do keep in mind that English is my second language and I may not always be fortunate in the choice of my words.
For the future we wish that we will be able to breed healthy and true to type Dalmatians which will become close friends to their families.
