Un-trainable? I think not.

Throughout history the Dalmatian has had many purposes which have been forgotten over the years as individual breeds became more and more specialised. OK, they might be second best to the Labrador as a Retriever or the Border Collie in the Agility Ring or you could even call them “Jack of all trades but master of none. However, they still thrive on “working” together with their owner at various tasks and can be found in the Agility Ring, in Obedience classes, as trained Rescue dogs in various dangerous situations and even in the hunting field. Road trials alongside horses and carriage dog trials are also gaining more and more popularity as well as endurance tests.

Retrieve or where brains and beauty come together:

The following pictures display Ger. Ch. Smiling Fellow’s Aloha Kiwi EW’04 and her breeder and owner Melanie Stühler from Germany. Melanie has trained some of her dogs as Rescue dogs but the following pictures show Kiwi during a Dalmatian typical session :).

OK, Kiwi’s drop of may not quite be ready for Crufts but the point is that you do not have to train to become a Champion. Simply go out there and have some fun with your dog which is what makes training a Dalmatian a much more enjoyable task.

Agility:

Agility is yet another great sport where you decide just how far you would like to take it. The following pictures show Champion Chatterly’s Nonpareil who is bred and owned by Seija Tiainen from Finland.

Noona is enjoying herself and just flies over the obstacles.

Rescue:

Rescue work with dogs is one of the sports which needs to be taken very seriously and requires a great deal of obedience. The following pictures display Tanja Loennqvist of Kennel Firehouse in Finland and her Bitch “Champion Perdita’s Killing me Softly.”
